Improved Medicaid Prescription Drug Rebates

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is hoping to save the pockets of taxpayers by employing a new rule to the Affordable Care Act. Texas Medicare Fraud Scheme

Being convinced of one count of healthcare fraud, the jury set in for a Texas man who defrauded the medicare system. "Huey P. Williams Jr., 46, of Katy, Texas, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Melinda Harmon of the Southern District of Texas.  In addition to imposing the sentence, Judge Harmon ordered Williams to pay $1.96 million in restitution.  Williams owned and operated Hermann Medical Supplies Inc. and Hermann Medical Supplies II (collectively Hermann Medical), two Houston-area durable medical equipment (DME) companies..." CMS Report On ACA Premiums

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has released a report on the effect of the Affordable Care Act on healthcare premiums. "The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a new report today showing that consumers have received more than $2.4 billion premium rebates since 2011 because the Affordable Care Act requires that health insurance companies spend at least 80 percent of premium dollars on health care. For 2014 alone, over 5.5 million consumers received nearly $470 million in rebates, for an average of $129 per family. Those rebates are in addition to improvements in quality and affordability savings consumers have received as the share of insurance companies in compliance with the requirements [...]
